I have taken to gifting wide-mouth mason jars as part of a housewarming gift to new neighbors and clients, and here is a good, short list of reasons why:

• They make great drinking glasses! Have kids? I do. Mine like to break my dishes when I ask them to wash them, and I suspect it's because they think I will stop asking them to wash the dishes.
